New maize processing plant opens in Mozambique | Food
Aug 29, 2022. MOZAMBIQUE— Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi, has inaugurated a maize processing plant in the northern city of Nampula with a processing capacity of 24,400 tonnes of maize a year. Nyusi announced that in the 2021/2022 agricultural year, maize production had risen by 30 per cent, the greatest leap in production in recent years.
Soybean meal is produced by different processing methods such as solvent extraction (soybean flakes 1.5% oil), and mechanical extraction by screw press (soymeal press cake >5% oil). Soymeal accounts for 62.5% of total oil meal and it also represents the 61% protein source to feed livestock (A. et al., 2011).
