Sentuo Oil Refinery: Ghana's First Privately Owned Refinery To Start Operation By End Of August 2023
Ghana's first privately-owned refinery, Sentuo Oil Refinery, will start operations in August 2023 and would rival struggling state-owned Tema Oil Refinery. The $1.98 billion oil refinery is owned by the Sentuo Group and would be able to produce five metric tonnes of petroleum products, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), jet fuel, gasoline, diesel and fuel oil.
In the present study, crude peanut oil was refined step by step in a laboratory scale. The impact of physical refining procedures on the formation of 3-MCPD esters was investigated by monitoring the content changes of 3-MCPD esters in the oil at the end of each refining step.
