Effect of refining on quality and composition of sunflower oil
The phospholipids content of pressed and pressed-degummed sunflower oil were reported to be 0.737 and 0.132 % indicating a decrease in phopspholipid content during degumming operation (Carelli et al. 1997). Brevedan et al. also reported decrease in phospholipids content from 0.39 to 0.10 % during degumming of pressed sunflower oil.
