Under the PVoC program UNBS requires that imported products whose standard specifications were declared compulsory under the UNBS Act 1983 must be inspected for conformity to the country’s technical regulations and standards, or their approved equivalent.

For soybean oil, the NOPA standards refer to crude de-gummed soy bean oil mainly with food application purposes in mind. These standards serve as a general guide for transactions, thus assuring a minimal degree of quality and consistency in at least the three main types of soy products being traded.
What solvent is used in soybean extraction?
In solvent extraction, flaked soybeans are washed with hot solvent, typically hexane, to separate the solids from the fats. Multiple washes dissolve the oil and carry it away. This oil solvent combination is also known as the miscella. The remaining material is the wet meal and solvent, also known as the marc.
Which soybean products have standard values?
