Camseeds - Socfin
Established in Cameroon in 2014, Camseeds works in close collaboration with the second laboratory of the Socfin Group, which is based in Indonesia since 1913 and one of the first agro-industrial players conducting applied research in agronomy. Seed improvement is one of our research’s major challenges, as we must meet the growing need for
In the context of COVID-19, IITA-Cameroon has been intervening in the seed system by introducing cowpea and soybean seeds from Ibadan and establishing small multiplication plots for cassava and maize on the station grounds. IITA is also intervening by building the capacity of the national agricultural research system through a series of

Cameroon - Access to seeds
There are 13 companies in Cameroon, of which one, Semagri, is headquartered in the country. Two companies—Semagri and Technisem—carry out seed production activities, though none involve smallholder farmers in these activities. Four companies have testing locations, three provide extension services and two have breeding locations.
Cultivated soybean seeds are composed of ~ 20% oil and ~ 40% protein, and both of these traits largely determine soybean seed quality (Lu et al. 2021a; Goettel et al. 2022 ). Seed size/weight, oil content and protein content are coordinately regulated by genetic factors and environmental signals (Duan et al. 2023 ).
Identification of an important QTL for seed oil content in soybean
Seed oil content is one of the most important quantitative traits in soybean (Glycine max) breeding. Here, we constructed a high-density single nucleotide polymorphism linkage map using two genetically similar parents, Heinong 84 and Kenfeng 17, that differ dramatically in their seed oil contents, and performed quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping of seed oil content in a recombinant inbred

- Does gmga20ox enhance seed weight and seed oil content?
- From the networks, two genes, GmGA20OX and GmNFYA, which enhance seed weight and seed oil content, respectively, show higher expression in cultivated soybean than in wild soybean ( Lu et al., 2016 ). In this study, GmZF351 also followed the mechanism of selection by expression.

- Who is Guangxin machinery of grain & oil processing?
- Sichuan GuangXin Machinery Of Grain & Oil Processing Co., Ltd was established in 2011, located in Mianyang city, the northwest of Sichuan province, China, covering an area of 100 hectares, including more than 300 employees.
- Is soybean seed oil content controlled by artificial selection?
- Soybean seed oil content is a key agronomical trait targeted by artificial selection and may be controlled by plenty of selective regions in the soybean genome. A set of selection sweeps related to oil content, embodied FA synthesis genes, were unveiled ( Zhou et al., 2015 ).
