Widely targeted metabolic profiling provides insights into variations
The edible oils and other important seed-derived products from sesame, peanut, soybean, and perilla are used in diverse industries, such as food, cosmetics, pharmaceutics, biofuels, etc., due to their excellent phytochemical profiles and health benefits (Ahmed, 2019, Pathak et al., 2014, Shang et al., 2023, Tanwar and Goyal, 2021).
Sesame oil from China contains vanillic acid, gallic acid, and syringic acid (Wu et al., 2016). In sesame oil from Pakistan, the amount of protocatechuic acid was 3.6 mg/kg and syringic acid was 4.31 mg/kg (Zeb et al., 2017). Vanillyl alcohol, vanillic acid, and syringic acid have been reported in sesame oil from the USA (Deme et al., 2018).
Oils Fats Refining Equipment and Turnkey Plants
We can provide edible oil refining plant equipment with capacity ranging from 50 t/d to 4,000 t/d for soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower seed oil, cottonseed oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, corn oil, peanut oil, linseed oil, animal fats and oils, chicken fat, butter, fish oil and etc. Refining is the last step in edible oil processing.
2.2. Oil Samples. Vegetable oils (10 peanut oils, 14 soybean oils, 14 rapeseed oils, 15 sesame oils, 14 olive oils, 10 camellia oils, 15 sunflower oils, 15 corn oils, 7 rice bran oils, 10 flaxseed oils, 3 walnut oils, 3 grapeseed oils, and 3 peony seed oils) were all commercial oils collected from the markets of different provinces.
Shelf-life prediction of edible cotton, peanut and soybean seed oils
It was found that 210.345 ± 0.45 mg of KOH/g of oil for edible soybean, 210.779 ± 0.45 mg of KOH/g of oil for edible peanut oil and 208.411 ± 0.54 mg of KOH/g of oil for edible cottonseed oil. Even though there was no significant difference between soybean and peanut oils, as compared to cottonseed oil, both oils had higher SV.
Refined olive oil has been used up to 27.75% in topical cream; soybean and sesame oils are listed for injectable dosage forms at levels of 10% and 70% respectively; and purified soybean oil has been incorporated in non-pyrogenic emulsions of propofol, an injectable used in general anesthesia.
Blending of Soybean Oil with Selected Vegetable Oils: Impact on
The oils blend formed by mixing sea buckthorn, camellia, rice bran, sesame, or peanut oils with soybean oil (at a level of 20%) demonstrated an interesting improvement in oxidative stability

- Why is soybean an important oilseed crop?
- Soybean (Glycine max L.) is an important oilseed crop worldwide owing to its diversity of end uses. In the year 2019-20, globally 341.76 million metric tons of soybean was produced which is 61% of the total oilseeds production. Its seed contains 18-23% oil and 38-44% protein. Seed is processed to extract oil for human consumption.
- Is soybean a good source of protein & oil?
- Soybean [ Glycine max (L.) Merrill] is one of the most important oilseed crops in the world. It contains 18 to 22 percent oil and is highly desirable in the diet and have 40 to 42 percent of good quality protein. Therefore, it is the best source of protein and oil and truly claim the title of the meat/oil that grows on plants.
- Why is soybean important in Pakistan?
- Soybean cultivation in Pakistan was primarily aimed at enhancing the production of edible oil, but it has a little share in domestic production as compared to other oilseed crops including cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), sunflower (Helianthus annuus) and rapeseed (Brassica napus).
- When was soybean introduced in Pakistan?
- Soybean was introduced in Pakistan as an oilseed crop during the early 1960s, but its cultivation remained limited until 1970s when adaptability and production trials conducted all over the county yielded promising results.
